Edinburgh Jazz Festival is a Huge Success.

Edinburgh Jazz Festival is a huge success. Earlier this year, Precise Events were appointed as the event production company for the Mardi Gras at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival .

We’re delighted to report that the event, which took place at the Grassmarket in Edinburgh, was a tremendous success, the sun shined and a great time was had by all.

Edinburgh Jazz Festival was set up in 1978 by banjo-player and guitarist, Mike Hart. Mike’s initial focus was on traditional jazz and a host of events taking place for free admission in pubs. By the mid-80’s the Festival had added ticketed events, and had broadened its musical policy to encompass swing and mainstream jazz and occasionally some more modern groups.

A Princes Street parade was established, and free events in the Grassmarket and Princes Street Gardens.

Our technical team worked alongside the events team at Jazz Scotland and we produced a plan to install three outdoor stages on the Grassmarket with adequate PA for the day of live bands.  Stage one at the bottom of the Grassmarket was our Gig Rig mobile stage, the second stage in the middle of the Grassmarket was the Airdome stage and last but by no means least sitting at the top of the Grassmarket we had our compact trailer stage for the smaller band performances.

After an day of live music, Rafal Karwacki – Festival Co-ordinator, commented:

“This is the third event that Precise Events have delivered for us and it was nothing short of fantastic.  Every person we deal with from Precise Events is always professional, helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

“What we really appreciate though is the experience that Precise bring to the table. This is what makes our events run so smoothly.”

Commenting on working with Jazz Scotland again, Andy Griffiths, Director at Precise Events, said:

“We initially started working with Jazz Scotland’s event team on the 2015 Aberdeen Jazz Festival and returned again this year to provide our mobile stage and sound. Following the success of the Aberdeen events Jazz Scotland did not hesitate in booking our services for the Edinburgh Jazz Festival.

This year’s Mardi Gras event, which was staged against the backdrop of the stunning Edinburgh Castle, was even better and we look forward to working with Rafal and his team again in the future.”
